When it comes back to Chennai, it has the train number of 2612. Chennai Garib Rath is a weekly train that starts from Chennai on Saturday at 6.10 am and reaches New Delhi the next day at 10.15 am. While returning back, it leaves New Delhi on Mondays at 4 pm and reaches Chennai Central the next day at 8.10 pm. This Indian super fast train can run at a maximum speed of 130 km per hour.
Chennai Garib Rath started its maiden journey from Chennai on 21st February, 2007 and was flagged off by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M. Karunanidhi. Within a very short period of time, this train has got so much popularity and has already become one of the most favorite trains to travel between Chennai and Delhi.
